WE HAVE MOVED!!!!.....

After 3 years in Spike Island we have relocated around the corner to the Albion dockside building.

We have taken two spaces within the building with fine art print production upstairs and mounting and
print finishing beginning downstairs in January. This means we will be able to
offer diabond, acrilic, foam bord and MDF mounting all in house.

We also have some other things on the horizon but for the now those will have to top secret!

Here are some pics of the new helloblue HQ... Studio warming gifts welcomed!

We haven't got a buzzer on the door as yet so if you come to see us just give the
phone a quick ring and we'll pop down!

A few bits and pieces from October 2011

This October has been particularly busy with large editions and some lovely individual pieces coming through the studio.  Work has been dispatched to exhibitions in Germany, Slovenia and Austria as well as closer to home.

There has been way to much to blog it all so I've just gabbed a section of various work that has gone out of the door in the last month... Enjoy.

Rebecca Harman
One of last years UWE illustration graduates Bex Harman came to see us to get some more of her work printed up. Its always nice to see graduates and see how they are getting on and bex is no exception. Her work was printed onto one of our new stocks, a textured 310gsm cotton paper that suited the work beautifully.

Drawing together project by Deborah Aguirre Jones

A series of drawings unfold into conversations.

Two groups of people were introduced at a distance; they started to exchange drawings and become aquainted without meeting face to face.

The picture below shows the conversations rolled up waiting to be collect. There were 26 conversations and each was produced as an edition of 65.

We worked out when laid end to end the total distance covered by the conversations was 2.6km!

Whistlefox Design

These prints are going on sale at the Bloomsbury Store in Bath and will also be available online at www.bloomsburystore.com. For this set we produced 20 of each design at various sizes ranging from A4 to A2.

Whistlefox Design is a new company providing beautifully Illustrated and designed gifts. It is run by our long term client and friend Sara Thielker and Graphic designer Oliver Bowles.

Marjolijn Dijkman - Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, Spike Island.

For The Theatrum Orbis Terrarum exhibition we were asked to produce 154 A0 prints that were to be pasted up in gallery 1 at spike island. We also had to produce two much larger prints that were to be erected separately in the gallery space

In total we printed over 250meters of 170gsm matt photographic paper in 5 days. We worked late and hard but the exhibition looked amazing and it was brilliant to be part of it.

Joe Magee Screen print edition for Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

We've been incredibly busy for the last three months with various projects and degree show work so have not had time to blog anything. This week I'm going to try and rattle through some of the work that has left helloblue in that time.  Enjoy.

First up was this 112cm x 76 cm two colour screen print edition of 25. The work was commissioned onto a 310gsm somerset paper and disappeared up to Edinburgh for the gallery opening. We also produced a series of Giclee prints for the show but such was the time pressure on the job that they were off out of the door before the ink had barely dried and we didn't get to photograph them.

Helena Karley update..

In November we produced a series of A1's onto newsprint for third year U.W.E student Helena Karley, they were to be worked onto as part of an on going project. She popped in last week to get some other work printed and happened to have the finished pieces with her.

The have been screen printed lightly with metallic gold ink and embossed... They looked amazing.. Helena had done a brilliant job of embossing and printing onto such a light a delicate stock.

Lionel Freidman Screen Print Edition

Phils been kept busy this week producing this screen print edition. It consisted of 20 prints of three images. For this edition Somerset text laid 300gsm was chosen. It wasn't the easiest screen print in the world to produce as creating a solid colour on a textured paper can cause problems but in the end they all looked beautiful.

The signed and numbered edition is off to London but if anyone is interested in a print let us know and we can forward your details to the artist.

Keep an eye on bens twitter and blog to see what other wonders he produces in the future.. I happen to know there's some good stuff in the pipeline...........
